SAM
Triathlon Hacks aims to bring you the best information, the latest strategies, the greatest success stories from our readers, the tried and tested tools that really work to fast track your triathlon success.
Sam is the owner and founder of Triathlon-Hacks.
His passion is to deconstruct triathlon into what actually works to get better performances and destroy the training myths that have many athletes wasting valuable time.
So often, athletes- recreational or otherwise- perform so far below their potential because they are just doing the same thing week in, week out.
Simply doing MORE of the wrong thing, will not make you any better!
And will dramatically increase the risk of injury
What if, instead you learnt the strategies that actually produce the highest results?
What about learning the quickest way to increase your 5 km time?
What about learning a 12-minute leg strengthening session that actually saved you an extra 4-6 hours on the bike every week?
What about learning something you can do every day that will take you less then 5 minutes but help you ignore that dreaded voice in your head telling you to slow down and give up?
These are the type of subjects we are looking to bring you each and every week at Triathlon Hacks.
Of course we always welcome your stories, whether good or bad, techniques you have implemented that have worked for you, or things you have eliminated from your training plan that simply made no difference at all but saved you a load of time.
Our team is full of triathlon nerds, geeks and devotees and is headed up by Sam whose mission is to get everyone to do at least one triathlon (which is a cunning tactic- because once you do one- you become hooked!). Sam is also sports physical therapist specializing in treating and preventing injuries from runners, swimmers and cyclists.
Whether you have never competed before or whether you are a sponsored athlete, we hope you find some new material that we inspire you to be the best you can be and enjoy every minute of getting there….
I would love to hear from you, you can email me anytime HERE
Happy Training!
Sam

CHARLOTTE
Welcome, I am so excited you are here!
I feel you are I are alike in many ways.
We love being fit, healthy, taking on challenges and achieving things most people only dream about.
When someone says “you can’t do that” or “you’re crazy”, we have more confirmation that we are on the right path!
As a triathlete, I swim, bike and run and also try to manage work, family and all the other stresses that come with it.
Sometimes this can just get overwhelming and we can forget why we are doing this.
Remind yourself from time to time to enjoy the journey!

I love doing triathlon, I love writing about triathlon and I love helping my clients improve at whatever level they are at.
I help non-athletes prepare for their first triathlon
I help fit people who have never done a triathlon prepare for their first triathlon
I help people who have done a few triathlons and love the sport, jump up a few levels to train like a professional and explode the results they can achieve.
I help triathletes bring it all together
Triathlon has given me so much over the years- incredible discipline, amazing friendships, loads of energy, a reason to eat healthy and a lot of self esteem and satisfaction from achieving my goals and pushing myself to perform better each year.
If you think about it-this is such a gift- as most people simple accept getting slower and fatter every year and blame the “ageing process”.
Actually many people who start triathlon notice their performances improving with age as they learn more, train better, implement more strategies.
Its fantastic and I want to share this with as many of you as possible.
I am medically trained as a physical therapist in Australia (I hold a bachelors degree from Sydney University and a Masters degree from Imperial College London), I have competed (and been on the podium) in triathlon sprint, Olympic and 70.3 events for 11 years in UK and Europe, I have built a team of experts and run my own centre of excellence for coaching runners and triathletes and providing physical therapy for sports injuries and injury prevention.
I have regularly been featured in local press and radio interviews and call in sessions.
Now more of my time is spent writing, coaching and continuing to bring you the latest cutting edge strategies with the team at Triathlon Hacks for saving time training whilst improving performance results.
I absolutely love what I do and helping so many people achieve their goals and change their life.
My clients include:
• Those who are already successful but want to achieve more faster and quicker without wasting training time doing things that don’t work
• Those who have thought about triathlon but never taken the plunge
• Those who have dabbled in a few beginner races but are now committed to seriously improving their result or moving up to longer distance
I congratulate you wherever you are in your triathlon journey.
If I can help you in any way, it would be my absolute pleasure.

DAN
I discovered the triathlon world in 2005.
It is fair to say I became slightly obsessed!
This has probably happened to many of you.
We tend to be an obsessive bunch. I love it- hey- there are worse things I could be obsessed about.
Triathlon has been a massive force for good in my life and given me structure, superb fitness, a bunch of cool friends who kick my ass and a lot of travel opportunities.
My favourite distance is Olympic and 70.3. I am planning Ironman in 2017.
Triathlon has taught me some important lessons:
- To never give up no matter how hopeless it seems right now
- Pain is temporary, results last forever
- To set unrealistic goals and work through every obstacle to make it happen no matter what
- That no matter how rubbish you feel right now, things will get better-eventually
- No matter how much you prepare, things sometimes still go wrong- Keep a sense of humour
And much more- I mean the lessons keep coming right?
So what do I do now?
I have written a best selling book, I am half way through my next book on 70.3, let me know if you want to go on the wait list for pre-launch).
I am also fortunate to have been invited to write with the excellent team at Triathlon Hacks, I coach clients 1:1 and online and I still swim, bike, run. I think this is in my blood now- I don’t know that I will ever stop, though I certainly train smarter now and have added a lot of gym strength work, yoga and I am diligent with my nutrition.
* I travel a lot and currently live in Asia
* I love surfing- this feeds my soul and is my meditation
* I love House of Cards and James Bond movies (I keep waiting for the call up to be the next Bond)
* Family is super important to me- I have one gorgeous son name Toby- he is now 3 years old (and of course has his first bike-though my wife wont let me get him an aero helmet :)).
* I am the best cook in our household- I absolutely love it, I love being creative and getting grateful “thumbs up’s” from my guests)
